The HardLine provides temporary, end-to-end encrypted communication channels. It is designed for a world under surveillance, offering a secure way to connect without leaving a permanent trace.
This application uses WebRTC for peer-to-peer (P2P) connections, meaning that once a connection is established, data flows directly between users' browsers, not through the server. The server's only role is to help users find each other (a process called "signaling").
All communications (text messages, voice messages, files) are encrypted using the AES-GCM standard with a key derived from your channel's secret key. This encryption happens in your browser, and only the intended recipients can decrypt the messages.
No data is stored on the server. When the last user leaves a channel, all associated information is gone, forever.
You can verify the security yourself: Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12) and go to the Network tab.
ct (ciphertext) and iv (initialization vector). The server only sees this scrambled data and cannot intercept or read it.Copy this link to invite others to join "".
